Isringhausen provides bikes to Springfield area children this Christmas
Employees raise funds to purchase bikes for 70 children
SPRINGFIELD, IL – Isringhausen Imports is making Christmas a little merrier for many Springfield area kids this year. The staff and management purchased nearly 70 bikes that will be distributed to needy kids Saturday, Dec. 20. This effort is part of a longstanding Holiday tradition at Isringhausen to give back to the community they have called home for more than 25 years.
"Our staff does a great job when it comes to helping those less fortunate in our community, especially during the holidays," Isringhausen employee Jennifer Jones said. "It’s an unexplainable feeling when you are able to deliver a bike to a child that does not have one and see their excitement and joy on their faces. It brings out the true meaning of Christmas for all of us."
Each year, Isringhausen employees collect funds to distribute to a local charity. Isringhausen management matches the amount collected to increase the overall contribution. This is the second consecutive year the staff has chosen to use the funds raised amongst the employees to purchase bikes for needy children.
Recipients were selected from four Springfield schools. Faculty and staff helped choose students from their classrooms based on need. A total of 68 kids, who range from grade K-8, will receive new bikes purchases from George Preckwinkle at Ace Hardware in Springfield and Wal-Mart. Bikes will be delivered Saturday, Dec. 20 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The bikes are currently on display in the Mercedes Showroom at Isringhausen Imports on East Jefferson St. in downtown Springfield.
"Our employees look forward to this effort every year. Their dedication to the Springfield community and their willingness to give back says a tremendous deal about the quality of people we have here at Isringhausen and I’m proud they are a part of our family," said President Geoff Isringhausen.
Isringhausen Imports was founded in 1981 by Rob Isringhausen as a pre-owned dealership specializing in high-end automobiles. Located in downtown Springfield, Isringhausen has grown over the last 27 years into one if the nation’s premier luxury automobile dealerships.
