WICS Newschannel 20 recently paid a visit to Isringhausen Imports. Reporter Kaira Willis spoke with Geoff Isringhausen to learn more about the Isringhausen DRIVE Grant, which benefits new startup businesses in the downtown Springfield area.

As Kaira noted, the recipient of the $20,000 grant must have a passion for entrepreneurship and plan to open their proposed business within 12 months of being selected.

"We believe that passion makes a successful business," said Geoff Isringhausen. "I made that a key part of these applications. We need people that are passionate in what they do and that will breed the success that will make downtown businesses continue to thrive.”

Isringhausen plans to select this year’s recipient in mid-October. The recipient of the inaugural grant was The Wakery, a late-night non-alcoholic bar and coffee shop, located on N. 5th Street, across from the Old State Capitol.
