On Saturday, Sept. 16th, Isringhausen Imports hosted its inaugural “Test Drive Towards a Cure” test drive event to benefit Susan G. Komen, a leading breast care awareness and prevention organization. Approximately 40 guests drove more than 350 miles in specially decorated vehicles, netting cash for each mile driven. Combined with donations from attendees, call-in donors and Isringhausen Imports, the event raised just over $5,000 for the Komen organization.
“Breast cancer has touched the lives of many Isringhausen employees and clients,” said Geoff Isringhausen. “We wanted to invite the community to help raise money to fight this terrible disease, while allowing guests to experience a few of the amazing vehicles we sell.”
“It was a first-class event, enjoyed by all who participated,” said Gayle Young, Susan G. Komen’s Executive Director for Central Illinois. “We are honored to partner with the Isringhausen team and grateful for the dollars raised that will provide breast cancer patients with financial assistance, navigation services and support cutting edge research to find new treatments.”
EV's Take Center Stage
The event was the first opportunity ever for many Isringhausen customers to drive an electric vehicle (EV). There were three EVs to choose from, including a Volvo C40 compact SUV, a BMW i4 M50 sports sedan, and a Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. A gas-powered Porsche Macan completed the charity test drive lineup as the fourth vehicle.
Isringhausen Imports intends to make Test Drive Towards a Cure an annual event. Follow us on social media to learn more.
