Downtown Springfield Inc. recently held its 30th annual awards ceremony and dinner at the Bank of Springfield Center (BoS), and Isringhausen Imports was there! Among the many highlights was Mayor Misty Buscher’s first “State of Downtown” address. Additionally, Isringhausen was presented with the prestigious “Cornerstone Award” for being an indispensable downtown Springfield business or civic organization that has enriched the community for many years.
Geoff Isringhausen accepted the award on behalf of Isringhausen Imports. Also in attendance were Geoff’s wife, Jennifer; his daughter, Hayley; and several longtime Isringhausen employees.
Earlier in the evening, Geoff presented a check to the 2023 Isringhausen DRIVE Grant winner: Rosie Gale, owner of Ceramics Made by Rosie. Rosie intends to use the substantial cash award to invest in a retail space for her ceramics business as well as an area for hands-on classes. (Read more about the grant here.)
The presentation of the Cornerstone Award capped an evening of celebration and recognition. Kaiti B. from 99.7 The Mix served as the event emcee. Also among the awards presented was the Wally Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award. Henderson was an architect, preservationist and community activist who helped design the restoration of the Old State Capitol in the 1960s and worked on other well-known Springfield buildings during his career.
Thanks to Kayla Graven and everyone at DSI for planning and hosting such a wonderful evening!
