Big congratulations to Ceramics Made by Rosie for officially joining the Illinois Made program! This incredible downtown Springfield shop, led by the talented Rosie Gale, has already made waves as a past winner of the Isringhausen DRIVE Grant for small business startups—and now, they've earned yet another well-deserved recognition.

Every year, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) handpicks a group of standout, locally owned businesses—known as Illinois Made Makers—who showcase the very best of craftsmanship and culture across the state. From hand-poured candles in suburban Chicago to intricate string instruments in Geneva to a beloved Mexican café in Chicago, this year’s class highlights just how diverse and creative Illinois entrepreneurs really are. And here's another reason to celebrate—downtown Springfield’s very own Whimsy Tea Company also made the list!

“Small businesses are the heartbeat of Illinois’ economy, and the Illinois Made program supports the local artisans who help define our state’s unique character,” said DCEO Director Kristin Richards. “This year’s class of Illinois Makers reflects the creativity and craftsmanship found in every corner of our state, inviting travelers to discover the experiences that make Illinois a true destination.”

Since its launch in 2016, the Illinois Made Program has grown to include 277 Makers, each adding their unique touch to the fabric of Illinois.
