Vondra Social House, located at 724 E. Edwards Street, proudly marked its official ribbon-cutting on Wednesday, December 10. Following a successful soft opening last month, the new venue now welcomes guests for brunch, lunch, and evening cocktails with small plates. The restaurant is also a distinguished recipient of the 2025 Isringhausen DRIVE Grant, awarded to promising small business startups in downtown Springfield. Cainan Barnett of Isringhausen Imports, Carlos Ortega of Downtown Springfield, Inc., and Ward 5 Alderwoman Lakeisha Purchase were among the well-wishers.
Owned and operated by Eric and Sierra Ferrell, Vondra Social House reflects the couple’s deep roots in the restaurant industry, having previously managed Brickhouse Grill & Pub and Cousin Eddie’s. Their vision has transformed a historic two‑story building, most recently The Carriage House, just south of the Lincoln Home National Historic Site.
The Ferrells undertook an ambitious remodel, creating a space that blends timeless design with a hint of whimsy, making it ideal for relaxed dining, quiet conversation, or small gatherings.
This week's brunch menu highlights both comfort and creativity, featuring:
• "Lincoln Logs" -- French toast sticks with house-made butterscotch and eggnog cream
• Blackberry Jalapeno Grilled Cheese
• Caesar salad with house-made pesto and croutons
• Biscuits and gravy with signature white gravy and sage sausage
• Tomato bisque soup
• House-made gingerbread coffee cake
