For the 13th consecutive year, Porsche has been named the most appealing automotive brand by marketing research firm J.D. Power and Associates.
In its annual APEAL (short for “Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout”) study, J.D. Power measures owner’s emotional attachment and level of excitement across 77 attributes, “ranging from the power they feel when they step on the gas to the sense of comfort and luxury they feel when climbing into the driver’s seat,” the company says.
The study, now in its 22nd year, is based on responses gathered from nearly 70,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2017 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership.
In addition to being named top overall brand, Porsche won three model-level awards for the 911 (midsize premium sporty car), Cayenne (midsize premium SUV) and Macan (compact premium SUV).
